Wolf what does it symbolizes
Healers often take the form of the Wolf in their ritual work. Wolves are fierce, loyal, independent and well able to offer support on the most challenging healing journey. Many peoples throughout the world respected and thought very positively of wolves. Among the various peoples and tribes of North America, wolf represents not only creation, but also death and rebirth. Wolf is also seen as a teacher-animal to the peoples of California and the Great Plains. They saw the wolf retreat into the mountains and hills to get away from humans, and made the connection between wolves and high places in other words, spirit.
In western Europe, wolves were not seen as positively. In both German and Norse mythology, wolf was a symbol of destruction and death. Vikings saw wolf as a representation of Fenris their Chaos , who would bite through his chains and consume the sun at the end of time. Romulus and Remus, the famous twins in pre-Roman times, were said to have been raised by a she-wolf--even suckled by her. The next night I do not recall any of my dreams that I had which is unusual for me. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Kim. I was going to search for more information on wolves and stumbled on this website. Dear Silken Raven: First let me say how impressed I am with your website. What a labor of love! And what a great service you are giving to people all over the world who are seeking self-knowledge through symbolism. I wanted to talk to you about the role canines — dogs, and wolves — have played in my life, and see what you made of this for me symbolically. I will get to this dream in a minute.
I am actually still interested in what you think about the symbolic role canines play in my life. Yet in many respects, I prefer the company of animals to humans. Animals in need of protection have always found their way into my life at various times. The first in particular was exceptionally intelligent but also epileptic, which caused her to bite, sometimes really badly. She also literally saved my life.
The second had been repeatedly rejected, was emotionally lost and complicated. With what I had learned from my first girl, it was not hard to bring her spirit back round. Patience, understanding, consistency and love that respects both the spiritual and physical nature of the creature you are caring for.
Those are the keys. I am also an environmental advocate, have studied a great deal about climate, and am a student naturalist. As more time has opened for me, I have become especially an advocate for wolves. This makes sense for me as I live in the Northern Midwest, home of the grey wolf, and our local packs in particular are the last remaining genetic seed species for all wolves of the upper United States. Wolves are controversial here: Some people really hate them, while others overly idolize them.
I feel concern for the survival of wolves here because of the hate and the accompanying desire to hunt and slaughter them, but more than that, I feel a tremendous passion for these animals. They are at the heart of what true environmentalism is about: They are a keystone species in their native ranges. That means that when they are present, everything in the environment thrives. When they are gone eliminated , things begin to fall out of balance.
Their presence ultimately affects everything, including the flow of rivers. My most cherished picture is that of a Tribal American woman kneeling by a stream with her arm around the shoulders of an adolescent wolf puppy. She is looking down lovingly at the pup, and the pup is gazing up into her eyes.
This picture of course connects to my feeling about caring for animals, dogs especially. It also connects to my deep feelings of purpose in being human on this Earth. As to the dream s : I have had this dream at least 4 times in the last 18 years. The first time was when I was with my first rescue dog, then at least twice while my second rescue was with me, and then again very recently when I dozed off after studying about and writing most of the day about wolves. In the dream, I am cutting off at least one of the legs of my current dog at the time.
In this last recent dream, it was the leg of a wolf. There is no blood, or gore, or anything like that, but I am definitely sawing, or cutting off with a knife, one of their legs — usually a hind leg, I think. Each time I have awakened immediately in a state of startle, feeling very disturbed. Hello SysB: Thank you for your kind words.
Being drawn to canines, particularly dogs and wolves is part of who you are. I know that you understand this and have made this connection. However, the wolf is also the teacher and a part of you. This means that you must take action with your knowledge and teach those around you the value of the wolf in our environment. Drawing the Hawk as one of your totems is a natural connection.
The Hawk is the messenger — and you should use his energy to help get your point across to everyone around you. You believe that you will not be able to make an impact in protecting the wolves in your area. You feel you are disabled in some way. This is what the dream is letting you know. You need to refocus your intentions in a way that will clear any feeling of doubt as to your abilities. Join Toastmasters, take public speaking courses and get out there and talk about your passion.
To me, this embodied the spirit of the rabbit. To hold and carry one, was to be fast and decisive. Wolfs are know to travel extremely long distances. Perhaps this dream is giving you the power to do the same, in order to protect their safety.
I am still trying to figure out what seeing all of them meant. I am a spiritual person, and I believe that a key point in your dream is that Sam grabbed you by the abdomen, where the Solar Plexus chakra is located, this chakra is associated with ones self-confidence, personal power, responsibilities, and will power. Perhaps your shadow self is trying to show you that you have a great power dwelling within you, and you should no be afraid of your power and have confidence in yourself.
Also, Sam putting you next to Jacob may be a sign that you are part of two packs that make up one big pack, meaning that you have two families that care for you deeply, and maybe you are what binds them together to make one big family.
Over all I think your dream is about self mastery, learning to trust yourself and others in a deeper level, and letting go of the illusion of what you perceive reality to be.
Remember when Jacob showed his wolf form to Charlie in Breaking Dawn? My intention is to help. Perhaps these have to do with certain archetypes, that is, common types of characters found in mythology. The goddess Artemis comes to mind as a lady related to the wolf due to her hunting skills and warrior like nature, while also being deeply respectful of the nature she hunts in.
Not sure about the old man, but in relating to Greek mythology, he might represent Zeus which is my guess. At home with mom, deceased visiting. Call From Rita, my deceased spouse, sends videos and pictures of high mountainous road views asks me to meet her in Prescott.
Soon I am with Rita walking a creek bed with small amount of running water and lots of bedrock. A white wolf begins to walk beside me. Rita stays several hundred feet ahead of me as I follow her. The wolf comes very close like a dog healing. Later in the dream another white wolf approaches near Rita, the wolf near me growls and seems to bite my left wrist and hand, only there is pain but no blood so it is not a bite but a firm grip and pull.
I awake with my left wrist still in pain. The pain subsides after an hour or so. Every since I was a tiny child I have always seen a wolf out the corner if my eye.
If I look directly at it, it disappears. But I always know it is there. Big and beautiful and I was never afraid of it until I asked my mother about it. She said it was the devil and I must never look at it or it will steal my soul. I was born in Africa into mundane white christian belief system. My heritage is my moms mother came from Canadian indian and my fathers family are finnish viking.
I wonder what the wolf is and how to get it back as my soul longs for it. I have memories and yearnings for places I have never been but I clearly remember the wolf was always with me. I remember the woods and mixing herbs for medicines and being a loner but a healer always helping the sick and it was always the wolf by my side.
But I live in a concrete jungle. I have dogs and horses. No wolf. No woods. Yet what I remember is more real to me than what I did yesterday. I miss the wolf. How do I fetch it back? What are these memories? You can take an animal communication class to expand this ability or google what it means as spirit animal. I had a dream last night that a wolf was in the area around whatever house I was in. Anytime someone would attempt to leave or come to the house or area round it, she would get extremely aggressive, defensive, vicious, and scary.
No one dared to leave because they were scared for their safety because she would chase and attack anyone near. It was apparent at first, but at some point I realized it was because she had a pup, just one, and that she was being extremely protective. I also remember having to get her attention and create a diversion because she was chasing someone trying to get the house and was to attack them but I was able to get her attention to distract her long enough to allow the person she was about to attack to make it to the house.
I then remembered she had that single pup who was now alone. I took the pup in and whoever else was in my dream seemed hesitant but accepting. And that is as much of the dream as i can remember. While meditating i pictured myself coming out of a.
I had a dream last night that I was up in some mountainous area with other people. It seems we lived there. I hesitated entering my cave because I wanted to see what was causing the panic when down the slope came a huge pack of fawn coloured wolves. They split into two groups, one group chasing after those who were running and the other deciding to run past my cave.
I scrambled to move out of their way and get into my cave, very fearful that they would follow me in there. But to my surprise they just swept past, with one or two of them trampling lightly over my feet. Please, what is the meaning of this dream? I just dreamt of being in a cage with a few zoo handlers waiting for another door to open before they release a white wolf, it was wild and ready to attack and got free of the handler before they could let me out but the amazing part was that when the wolf saw me, it submitted and did a reverential now.
The next thing I woke up and my dogs were barking this is the middle of the day since I sleep durig the day and work at night and it was too early for my boyfriend to come home from work. I thought I heard another door in the house open too and the voice went away. It was just me and the dogs.
When the voice went away the dogs calmed down. This is all way farther than should bother my little dogs. But the dog that was let outside is a large, white, wolf-like dog. Very wild spirit. A new friend of mine had said she has a spirit companion and I believe she said it was dog-like or wolf-like in shape and the young woman I will be learning yoga from a young woman who strongly connects to wolf spirit.
My brother was the only one on the same floor of the house and he was in his room playing video games. I would get chills in that room and I had a dream of an out-of body experience watching myself sleeping and seeing a dark shadowy figure looming over me and jumping in but then I remember shaking and waking up soaked in sweat. Such strange occurrences but I wonder how the wolf relates to any of this?
Any connection of a white wolf to the spirit realm? How do you know what your spirit animal is? Hi Mike. Trust your instincts and feelings, the cold ones and the warm ones. Learn to see clear with an open mind, unafraid, serene as snow.
The white wolf came to you and will always be by your side when you want. To be alone at times helps you to find, recognise and develop your inner strength. The mountain that splits open brings you to your human inner base and you see. Good luck, enjoy, Wilma. I moved into a new house with my 2 brothers and mother after the divorce of my parents, when I woke up in the middle of the night only to see 2 wolves standing near my bed.
One of them was a large black male with red eyes, and the other was smaller, white, female and had amber eyes. They stood there for about 10 minutes, just staring at me. Then they looked at each other, and disappeared. Now I am used to them, as I also see them in my dreams in a pack.
They are also with me every time I leave home, and I feel safer with them around. As I woke up I saw a wolf, sitting looking at me, with a thin black cord around its neck with a violet coloured crystal attached to it like a necklace. I was not afraid of it, just wondered what it wanted…. I write this here as it is the closet to the time I saw the wolf of my dream that I had dreamt 8 years before. I was on sacred ground, I was a visitor, a helper from another land, at BC — wildfires.
I didnt understand the dream 8 years before. I could not have imagined then that I would travel to the other side of the world and be in the midst of wildfires. As a child I wanted to visit where first Nation people had flourished and lived in harmony with forests, animals and spirit. Last year, I found myself there, and was captured by the scene I had dreamed. It was a lone white wolf staring out over us.
In my dream, the wolf stopped and looked back then went on. I dont understand it, but know it somehow. I found a symbolic tree there, I saw it several times, it had twin trunks, it would be the tree a colleague kicked one if the trunks down. It was strange he did that to that tree, as there were thousands of trees.
I would be grateful for any insight into these ocurrances. May the wind be with you. Okwaho, Wolf has been visiting me so much lately. I often do not see that because my ego wants me to believe that I am strong. And I am. But, as the great Peacemaker taught my ancestors, no one and nothing is strong on their own. I have often felt alone. But I have never been alone. Those who are still in this world, and those who are not. Okwaho, Wolf, like Okwari, Bear keeps coming back to me, which says that their message is important, and needs to be heard.
In my case, Trooper, my half wolf friend, protected me when I was too weak to defend myself. Considering that I am going back out into the world today after a long illness, caused, at least in part, by my abuse as a child, I suspect Okwaho is trying to tell me that the abuse is behind me and that I am safe, whether I know that or not.
It is good to have this message that Okwaho, and my friend Trooper, are with me. I keep having a strange dream. Please help? Okwaho, Wolf, has many powerful meaning to me. My best friend, and my first great love, was a half Wolf, half German Shepard named Trooper. When I was badly beaten, which happened a lot when I was a kid, I would often sleep outside with Trooper. I was never more safe than when I was him. Since then I have had many encounters with Okwaho, sometimes in this world and sometimes in my dreams.
I cannot think of Wolf and not think of my friend Trooper. I would often feel him near me when I felt the Black Dog, Depression, creeping up on me, or the world just seems too much. The Black Dog has been a big part of my world of late I feel this Okwaho sign as a reminder that Trooper is still with me in this difficult time. I had a dream last night where I where I was running in the forest and I started getting faster and faster and when I looked down I was running on paws so I assume I turned into a wolf can u tell me what that means.
She would say Woof. We would ask her to say Gulf and she would say Gulf, and then ask her to say Wolf and she would say Woof. I still think of her when I think of Wolf.
One of my best friends when I was a kid was Wolf clan. Very powerful spirit animal. Been struggling, yet again, with some serious physical issues. The women in my life have always been stronger and able to endure more than the men. Wolf has always been female to me. I was once home alone on a bright sunny winter day. The snow had recently fallen and I got up early before anyone else. I was living with my mother at the time.
I entered the front room and just across the road in a clearing was a beautiful full grown wolf staring directly at me. We stood there for what felt like a million years and as I moved to grab a camera and turned back he was gone. I felt exilerated and scared all at once. I have never seen this wolf since. Confused though, do I have two, can they both be helping me? I recently heard a name when I was dreaming, and the wolf was there, said the name was Akira. Something strange happened to me too.
At the end of meditation I asked my guide about this and she said they represent my spirit animal. What is the wolf appearance trying to tell me? I am divorced but still very close to my ex-husband, if anything related to that I read about a relation between wolf and family loyalty. Ive been going through a powerful spiritual awakening. My psychic energy is evolving in leaps amd bounds. I was told this a psychic. She also encouraged me to start reading cards…and the accuracy i have with them is overwhelming.
Since my reading with Irene, everything she said is happening… I not only sense more, but i am starting to see spirit. Last night as i closed my eyes to go to sleep, 3 white wolves ran across my path and couldnt help but take notice. When it comes to dream interpretations, every aspect of your dream represents YOU and the symbols you see are for you to discover as not everyone interprets the symbols the same way….
I was driving out and Wyoming heading toward Cheyenne and saw three white wolves running abreast across the road in front of me. I always wondered what the meaning of that was.
I always figured it was something spiritual and good. So I believe the wolf is my spirit animal. He tells us never to lose touch with our wild self, our free self, and to trust our instincts. Our ancestors were people of the wilderness. That did not make them savages. It gave a deep love and respect of nature and of freedom.
The dream starts with me sitting in my living room at the time, in an empty house. The room is arranged so the back of the couch is under a large window. To the right of the door is the entrance to the kitchen. For some reason I turn around kneeling on the couch now, with my elbows on the back of the couch and part the curtains of the window to see the front entryway and an expansive lawn. At the end of the lawn I notice, and immediately lock eyes on a large black wolf.
Fear overtakes me instantly so i close the blinds.. Not seconds later I curiously part the blinds again to see the wolf, still motionless and staring, but this time he is in the center of the lawn.
Again I shut the blinds and again I curiously open them seconds later. This time I shut the blinds and run into the kitchen in a panic. I sit on the floor with my back against the oven and hug my legs, burying my face deep into my knees.
After I regain a bit of courage I look up. Peeking around the side of the door, motionless and staring, is the wolf! I bury my face in my knees again, terrified.. One last time, I look up, and the wolf is right in front of me now. Close enough to touch. Yet, all he does is stare me down.
The dream ends abruptly after I see him that last time, always with me utterly terrified. I teared up a bit writing this actually. I love animals, and this dream in no ways left me with a negative view of wolves, but even the thought of this dream gives me the shivers. For reference, my parents hated each other and had a toxic relationship throughout their marriage and drank and did a lot of drungs to cope. That house in particular there was a lot of fighting, to the point of police being called.
There was also a lot of negative paranormal stuff in that house… I lived with my mom, dad, sister and grandmother. Days before i moved into my new home, i had a dream. This dream took place in the fall, orange leaves were scattered all over the place, it even covered the ground. Before i knew it, i heard a voice. When i woke up, i went with my mom to see the house. Then things went for the worse, our house got infested with ants, mice were running around and we swore we saw a bear.
After a while we moved out and i had forgot of that wolf dream, until the year came along. Someone tell me what this means, i am very confused. Hi kat. Im fascinated by your dream! You must know with dreams, the biggest part represents YOU.
The wolf you saw…could be a spirit guide. The feeling you felt when you woke up is important as it could indicate feelings or situations of your waking life. If you can, go back to that dream. But before you do, envision a blanket of pure white light drapping over your body.. Then when you do go back, in your mind assert control of your dream and try talking to the wolf. I wish you the best of luck. I was taking a nap while my husband was making dinner and I had the following dream: Our family was driving on a country road in our family car Blue Mazda and it was cloudy out.
I spotted in the road in front of us four wolves laying on the ground, who appeared to be either just killed by another driver or laying down and about to be run over by our car.
In my dream, I thought my husband would try not to run over them, but he proceed to just drive over the wolves like it was no big deal, their blood sputtering out from over our tires.
And I thought we were safe living here, now do I need a gun? I have no idea what any of this means but it concerns me deeply, so please respond. Many thanks.
Well one person at a time four of family members all witnessed a spiritual black wolf with yellow eyes in a home we just moved into. Everyone in my family is spiritually gifted so seeing things is a norm in my home however my husband never hears or sees anything really, but one of my younger sons kept telling me a story of a blk smoke that would come into his room every night he say it came out of a wall in his room that lit up with a neon blue light that was big circle and the smoke would turn into a blk wolf with bright yellow eyes he said it state fore a while but eventually would stand on its hind legs and pace back and forth all night and when the sun light filled his room he left.
However she said it must be an old ancestor trying to protect my son. We at the time lived in California we now live far from there. But the new hm was in a city called Soledad ca. The most haunted town I have ever encountered. It had been maybe min when he can running in the room saying he saw something he saw bright whites of eyes in a corner wall by the closet and he started to do spiritual war fare when it flew over him and he stopped and said to it wait wait hold on he said it was huge bigger than a real wolf but stood like a werewolf but look like a real wolf that the hair was full and soft his eyes were memorizing.
And he told it to leave and it resolved into smoke then mist then was gone. When this son of mine was born some impersonating nurse woman entered my room drugged me and then branded top of my hand an and A that was circled that had servers strata on the top left corner with a half moon and I think teardrops too she did something to my kid then started speaking a african dialect as she scattered blk ash all over the room and finished it in the bathroom an angel showed up threw me back in my body and told to wake up because I passed out after thenranding happened and when she scattered the ash I blacked out and was still in the room just out of my body standing to my right the angel kept forcefully insisting I got back in my body and woke but I wanted to see what the woman looked like and wanted to know what she was doing.
The did a manual lockdown on the whole hospital because they saw my branded hand and all the blk ash everywhere but they never caught her. I dreamed of a dead wolf and out of his skins there came an opening and a great thunderbird rose up out of the wolf skin.
It was bright like the sun and rays shown all around it in brilliant reds, yellows, and oranges. I was completely at peace in my dream, in awe of the sight. Your thunderbird is a Phoenix! This dream is about renewal, resurrection. Thunderbird and Phoenix are both associated with the sun. What a wondrous and powerful dream! In the fall of my family and I had just purchased a new home. We had been busy all weekend moving everything in. That following Monday I was left in the house alone.
We just stair at each other for what seemed like a long time. This is going to sound crazy, but it seemed special. It hit me no one is going to believe this. I moved to get my camera and he was gone. I never saw him again and my kids never played outside at dusky dark.
That next summer the woods behind my house were cut down for pasture. That guy had a hard time keeping cattle for first three years. Something was making a meal out of his herd. We have had dogs around us this whole time, but when the cattle was being attacked all the animals went crazy for hours.
This guy finally kills what he thinks has been after his cattle. His cattle and horses start to die one by one not right at property line. Not far at all from where I saw the wolf. I watched a bull ram a cow in the side until it killed her right on that corner of land. When you put it all together it seems really strange. If you anyone can find meaning in all of that please share. Likely the property is cursed there are many ways it can be cursed but why is important to be able to cleanse and bless.
This really happened yesterday. I saw an Alaskan Shepard wolf looking dog driving next to me on the highway. I was on my way to look for my missing son in another city. In the evening I drove home and parked my car in the apartment parking lot and as I was walking up to my front door a wolf looking dog came out of no where and started wagging his tail and sniffing me.
It looked exactly like a wolf so I was scared at first. He wanted to come into my apartment but it would have scared my cats so I just shut the door. What does this mean to have two wolf-looking, dog, sightings on the day I was looking for my missing son?
Always rushing through life and have been careless when it came to them. Hey, I recently had a dream that a gray wolf with yellow eyes was staring at me. He was really close to me, only a few feet away.
He walked up to me, and I stuck my hand out. He rubbed his nose against it and playfully nipped it. Then I rubbed his head. Could someone please tell me what this means? Lastnight, i dreamed of a lot of things but the one that stood out the most for me was when the wolf came into my dream. It was a grey small wolf looked like a beta, it was shown to me in a 3rd person view but i was the wolf.
She was being wrapped by a white spirit who was talking to me and it wad a womens voice very soothing but i couldint understand what she was saying. She was harmless we both were and we were standing in a cave it was lit up by dimmed lights… Can someone please tell me what this meant?
I had a dream that a giant gray wolf was outside my front door behind my mom. It look like it wanted to bite her. Later on I was really clinging to her because I thought the wolf was going to kill her.
I went to my room and I look outside my door and see many giant wolves walking past my front door. I had a dream where a black wolf lunged at me with intent to kill, I managed to get on top of it wolf facing me. Out of no where I a white wolf pup came and held it down and I killed the black wolf with a knife. I believe it means that you recently have been revealed some truths of yourself dealing with who you are and who you are no longer.
You have accepted your self your abilities and are ok with the things you cannot do. You shared this with someone s which makes you have tell someone of these truths or your realizations and forcing the idea and lie of who you were trying to be is you killing the old you portrayed to be and who you are have become now are severed and not longer can you ever be seen as that lie you were trying so hard to be.
I love wolves! I had a bad night last night I had trouble breathing anyway I eventually got to sleep only to be woken by a snarling wolf inches away from my face. This was very good because as I woke, I realised I could not breath and the wolf woke me. I might not be here now if it were not for the wolf. As a child I suffered from bad croup and woke many a time without being able to breath but always had a glass of water by my bed. Last night was the first time it did not wake me as normal. My husband was bitten by a giant black wolf up north in Canada he was told by a shaman it was a spirit wolf and it change him he could see at night and his hearing became more acute, he has many good traits of the wolf and powerful.
So wolves are special and they are magical. Last night, had a dream that a Brown bear and a wolf were playing together in my yard , the bear carried the wolf into my pool and they swam and played together, super calm and relaxed.. I had a dream about wolves once that makes no sense to me. I was sitting on a beach at night next to a fire and turned around. Suddenly, this massive black male wolf with golden eyes was in my face. I could tell he was angry by the way he looked at me.
Anyone got any helpful hints about this? Ive been having dreams about a black wolf for three weeks straight. Every time I dream of the wolf, Iam running besides him into the woods. The wolf was a man and he cover me before the idian could strike me. When the Indian tryed again, he turn into wolf form and covered me.
Not sure what this is meaning.
